I had veloce calipers i replaced with the skeletons. I mainly went for them because i think they look great, they also work really nicely, but the original veloces were good already.
id put them on my ulegtra equipped Fuji as well (sacrilege) if it wasn't for the lack of quick release.
i highly rate koolstop pads as well, get some of them and just get the cheaper caliper unless your feeling fancy and want the skeletons.
