brilliant, no mincing around there. There's too much slickness in the singlespeed world I say! maybe the 'make do' approach could be a new thread. although I agree they look shit.
I'm going to get a seat post setup,, the 32's on my singlecross aren't going to benefit from the roadracer jobs. Any DIY suggestions Bigfoot!!? -

hahaha doesnt the water get through the screw holes??? So instead of getting the mud stripe you end up with muddy polka dots over your back lol.

Any idea where i can buy some P clips?
You should be able to use P Clips to attatch somewhere on your seat stays, and still keep it looking fairly neat.
EDIT if you can't be arsed then get SKS or similar from your LBS, use P clips, all good.

Weaslepopper, that shot was taken about 3km from my Maison Secondaire in Talloires. Nice shot, and the mudguard looks pretty good too on that bike.
All the rest of you, if you need Roadracer spares PM me direct through the site, no charge.
I've changed the design of the front tail...fixies have been knocking them off with their feet on the overlap, so I've made the tail in a softer plastic, and put a locktab in for the thumbnut.
Favourite bit of the site for me is the photos....very inventive, especially Lutz. -

That makes you a gazillionaire?! Nice place for a second house. Did the tour de france ride past you front door?

Yes TDF came within 2 mins of the house....but I was in the thick of design for the Roadracers, couldn't find the time to visit. Sold shedloads now though, so it's 2 months snowboarding at La Cluzas for me this winter.

I'll sell you the rights to my bathroom floor mudguard, you could start a range of environmentally friendly/recycled mudguards. It'll only cost you a trois valley season pass! what are you waiting for? lets do this!

A certain bike mechanic I know who likes cider and heavy metal said a funny thing to me about the Crud Roadracers the other day, something along the lines of 'I fucking hate them! The brushes ... they use something touching the tyre in order to stop the guard touching the tyre, how stupid is that?!'*
- I may have embellished this with expletives, I'm not sure.
Good for you Mr Crud you've made a packet on your mudguard, there was a gap in the market there, and that it will pay for a TWO MONTH snowboarding trip. I'm well envious! As I've posted elsewhere on here, I think they look a bit
But there's no accounting for taste. Mudguards are great, especially for the rider behind, so more on the road is fine by me.

Looking for some shorty mudguards i had on my Raleigh winner back in '85. ally, attached to pivot bolt on my weinmann side pulls. love the look, didn't stop much crud though!

@ Mr Crud Are you going to do a larger size to fit 28+ tyres?
-
• #64
Please do this... The only reason Im yet to purchase a set.

Probably not...takes an enormous amount of work, plus tooling is really expensive. I'm probably going to take it easy next year.
Hang on a minute.....isn't this LFSS forum? How come I'm being given such an easy ride?
Are all the haters having the day off? -

We're here. And we're watching you, Mr two month holiday ... ;)

Nice, I missed the TDF too as all my friends who work at Salomon were given the day off for it so we went Downhill at Les Gets instead. I've just been riding powder today up on Le Semnoz. Had to hike for a bit but bright skies and 20cm of fresh snow and people building up a few decent kickers Moving to London on Sunday for a new job after a year out here freelancing..pretty depressing leaving just as the season starts but I guess you have to work for a living.
After a really dry summer it's snowed for about 10 days solid. Should be a good base in La Clusaz now.

Ohhh no I remember said cider drinking bearded man saying that too! And then we both commented on how they make good fake eyebrows :)
(I've used them on my bike set of mudguards! )

i have one on the front, and it sounds like you are riding flipper the fucking dolphin. the 'stays' and the moulding rub on the wheel/rim
okay when noisy, but when not, it gets up my grdle. - I may have embellished this with expletives, I'm not sure.

have bit the bullet, mainly out of respect for my fellow SMTNRCers and picked up some sks raceblades. in white of course, to match the decals on three of my bikes and the frame colour on the fourth.
will hopefully be putting them to the test this sunday

So what's the best full length mud guard? Are Chromoplastics still considered the best? For all winter commuting that is
-
• #74
I'm after some fairly classic styled silver mudguards that fit closely, I have no eyelets but clearances aren't too tight.... running 28c randonneurs.
I have seen some clips that attach to the stays... do they work with any mudguards? can you get mud guards that sit on your axles? and do guards generally come with a bolt for the rear brake mount, as I'm not running a rear brake...

Been looking around and SKS have just released a light weight raceblade LONG. At 460g it almost half the weight of Chromoplastics. Sadly IMO they failed with the 23c restricition. 25s and I'd have been all over them :(
Heres one I just put together using a broken bit of bathroom floor, I think it quite suits a rusty, piece of crap unipac.
And one I made earlier.
Both look shit but work perfectly ;)
