Don't buy these sorts of scare articles--given that crash stats are never put into context, these articles are desperately easy to write.
As I said in another thread, experience suggests all that they probably show is a huge growth in cycling nationwide, which is potentially fantastic news, but we still have to await a proper analysis for confirmation of this.
