How do I convince my girl to start riding?

So many of you are talking about this woman like she's ill informed.
She's dating a cyclist. She gets it. She doesn't want too.
Get her a bike as a gift instead of something she actually wants and you're a selfish asshole.
Get her a bike as an honest plea to get her to give it a try and at least it's honest.
Calling her the fairer sex, saying she's intimidated by a scary "racer", and asking how to "talk her into something" makes you extremely condescending, consciously or otherwise.

If the fact that she doesn't ride is make or break for you, leave her alone.
If it's not, get over it.

While this is one of the few posts here that I agree with, it's kinda weird how you wade in only for this kind of discussion. Just sayin'.
