What size is that pool, and how much does a swim cost? My wife's local is closed for a bit.
We're talking about Ironmonger Row I assume? Wellllll, it's funny you should ask as that's been the subject of some debate (in my head)this morning.
*[SKIP THIS BIT IF YOU JUST WANT THE ANSWER]The 5k I did in it this year was apparently 16 lengths further than last year. So it's either 33 metres in which case last year's time for 152 lengths was for only 4560 metres OR it's actually only 30 metres and this year's 168 lengths was correct and last year's time was artificially quick. *
Either way it means that this year's time at 4 minutes slower than last year wasn't a failure after all! My overall pace was in fact quicker! I've been thinking I went slower for months since I did it. It was only on starting training again this week (determined to right that wrong!) that I re-checked the times and realised I'd been duped![END OF RAMBLING DIGRESSION]
So yeah, sorry, it's *probably *30m, costs £3:40 I think. I pay a monthly membership of £20 ish (?) for unlimited swimming. It's the best pool I've found in London. Cool, clean water, double width lanes, and the extra few (5 or 8) metres makes a huge difference. I hate 25m pools as by the time you surface from a big kick off you're halfway down the pool.
Only mega bummer huge pain in the arse problem is that it's shutting down in May 2010 for a major redevelopment and not opening till some time in 2012. *weeps.
