For Sale: A F Mills Track bike

Posted on
  • As used by me at the 2nd track day

Comes with as per the track pic minus saddle and pedals. The drops have been used twice and were NOS. the crankset is Williams, front hub airlite, rear hub suzue. 36/40 rims for sprints (tubs).

Just a very cool bike with great patina. Breaks my heart but I don't use it and museum pieces shouldn't exist.

    £500 ono

  • Nooooooo! :[

  • Nice bike!

  • Dibs pending sizes...

  • You won't be sorry... Ant's bke is sweet...

  • sizzzze?

  • 57 top tube
59 seat tube centre to top

I think, it was dark in my workshop because the lights stopped working

  • Dibs, for real.

  • i like the bars your using there, what are they ?

  • Sold pending the usual stuff.

Dylan they are old 3ttt, a really nice vintage track drop.

  • What's the handling on this like?

It looks tight and track orientated, am I right?

  • I only rode it a few times on the road. Once with a brake but it's got those round 531c fork legs so that was a bit of a waste of time (very boingy).

On the track it was awesome. I'm not the lightest of guys and it supported me in winning my Keirin heat.

  • cool... cool...

    look forward to seeing it!

  • A F Mills......didn't they have a shop in Welling Kent?

  • They did and this was built/sold there.

  • what is the pedal threading on the cranks? standard?

  • Thats a lovely looking frame.
Why does it have mudguard eyes though?

  • It's a path racer, innit? I reckon the fork's been swapped at some point... Still sweet as tho'...

  • I was thinking that but the clearences up the back aren't big enough for 27s. Or it doesn't look it.

  • I never worked it out. The clearances are tight, I'd say the fork was original looking at the paint and the fork has eyelets too.

    Aran standard pedal threading.

  • the forks look perfectly original and very much in the style of a 1950's path frame, back in the day you rode to work/rode with club runs/& raced on your only bike (austerity times post war) hence the mudguard eyes, easiest way to confirm if forks are original to the frame is to check if the number stamped on the steerer tube corresponds to the frame number....should be the same!

  • did this sell complete?

if not and you decided to split i'd like to take the cranks and BB off your hands

  • The pending sale is as a complete bike.

  • Sale fell through so this is back up for grabs.
