This is the latest version of my genesis flyer, which changes on a weekly basis - hence the shitty phone + hallway photo... currently its running pretty sweet, new front wheel, bars, brakes, saddle, post, rear wheel, chainring, chain, tyres, sproket and so on... in fact, on last check, the frame, crank arms, bb, headset and forks are the only stock components remaining... for now.

when did bar tape go out of fashion?

Is that bar angle comfortable?

bar tape went out of fashion when i ran out of time and money putting it together... then i realized that they were acceptably comfortable without and haven't bothered since.
though now the frosts have come i think bar tape might come back into fashion... at least full-finger gloves will.. the angles great for me, and they're lovely and narrow... -

looking pretty lovely! white components are definately the way to go - though your running the twin rail tyres - i've always assumed they instantly become a shade of grey when they hit the road?! my pink and green did...

Be very careful with the Halo tyres, they're pretty rubbish when it come to grip and wear.

The only problem is that making your bike nearly entirely white makes it look like a ghost bike.
But your choice.
I maintain that white chains are a stupid idea - when the paint chips off a quick wipe with a rag won't fix, trust me.

i have had mine for ages now, and just seen this thread. Its the '08 flyer, only thing left standard is rear wheel and frame.
now has on it;
Kona Project 2 Forks
DT Swiss Front Rim built onto Hope Pro2 hub
SlX Front disk set up
Bonty X Lite Riser bars
Sram s300 Chainset
FSA Carbon XC Seatpost
Specialized Toupe Gel SaddleBasically its a joke of a bike in essence, but as a ridiculous hack bike that can be smashed off road as well, its great.

I got confused by the same shitty Halo tyres as the previous one!
-
• #195
i know i know they are pretty pants
but they have done me well, and croydon is getting about half a ton of grit thrown on each square inch of road atm, so the pro2's i had on there were absoutely uselessso they have done their purpose, and the only ones we had in the shop were those colours, but i am growing to appreciate the fact they look enormously homo

no, i'm still here!
same shitty tyres maybe... different way round; what are the odds of that, i've assumed i was the only one not too embarrassed to enter the public domain with that colour combination - i should state that mines due to stock levels and discounts at wiggle, not colour blindness, nor being enormously homo...).I should say in the twin rail defence that in the last couple of days of snow and now ice these have been blooding fantastic... cycling with a mate who has a standard road bike w. conti's on today - he's going along next to me one minute and gone the next... the twin rails had enough bite to keep me running (albeit wheel spinning)... they wear quick but i'd still replace like-for-like.

Been running mine now for about 6 months, barely a chip on them. :)

they 'aint no twin rails, not at that price!
They are white zaffiro pro's (highly recomend) they do go a bit grey till it rains then they go white again till the next day, shrugs -

Morning all been lurking for ages but thought i would join the fun!Bought a flyer off the ebay 3 years ago which had a 16t fixed cog already on it.Stuck on some Nitto Bullhorns and white gaffa over the horrible decals and mavic open pro on the rear when a bus gave me a helpful nudge and bent my wheel in half!!Also got some rubino tyres as the gatorskins that were on it when i got it punctured about twice a month! It is a great ride but it has always pulled to one side if i sit up no hands.Anyone else noticed this or do you think something is bent?
