A old mechanic once told me 5Nm is like turning the handle to open a door.
I have no idea if the said door was old and rusty or new and flimsy (from Ikea) but you get the idea.
I always recommend that when tightening cleats once the plate has bitten the sole alternate tightening each bolt a 1/4 turn until tight.
