I was thinking more along the lines of an invisible repair, professionally done, rather than a cheap crappy £6 patch to bodge together my really nice £120 jacket.......

it's even what gore themselves suggest

Hmmm that sounded really arsey, sorry Murts, I used to know someone in Essex that did really good quality invisible repairs on Gore-tex stuff, through somewhere I used to work years ago, I was just wondering if anyone new someone similar in London.
Really gutted I ripped it in the first place :( -

mine has about 4 ripped holes, i now call it a pore-tex
you can't really sew it, because it will have to be taped.
and no offence taken james

Yeah I used to sell all this stuff from a hiking/outdoor adventure shop when I was younger, the woman who did repairs for us used to use the patches, but she must have heated it up or something and bonded it somehow, I can't remember how she did it, but the repairs were literally invisible, they were so well done.

i think those patches will seal it pretty good, a bit like leeches/park type stylee.

Yeah I guess if no one knows anyone in London that does the same I may well have to settle for the patch thing....gonna give my old workmate a call and see if I can get it sorted out that way, just a hassle and i'm short on time at the moment.

I got a big gash in a waterproof jacket invisibly repaired a few years ago. Worked great. Can't remember the name of the place though... somewhere north, maybe lakes, northumberland? I'll have a think...

Both helpful but not nearby, anything that far away and I might as well wait and get the person out in Essex to do it, but it means a week in this weather with no waterproof jacket, not great :(

Duck tape makes a good temporary repair.

I had a minor spill in a car park earlier this year, racing a mate down a multi-storey car park in the ice and snow, the inevitable happened and I hit a patch of black ice....numpty that I am.
Anyways, it resulted in a couple of minor gashes on the shoulder of my lovely Berghaus jacket, anyone know anyone in London that does decent invisible repairs for Gore-tex Jackets, should be relatively easy as there is no fraying just straight cuts into the shoulder through the material, i'm just not sure about attempting it myself as its quite an expensive jacket and I don't want to mess it up.
