@Commie, as dancingjames was trying to deduce from you, can you tell us what rim tape you use?
It could be that you are either not using rim tape on that particular rim, or it has slipped sideways and upwards in one place, exposing the spoke-end, which will be rubbin g on the naked tube.
THx DJ & GA2G - rims were built (by Pete @ Rat Race) with decent rim tape, which is fully intact/looks like new. When I changed the inner tube, it was worn adjacent to each spoke end? THis was the rear wheel, pumped daily to 120psi. Bizarre!
