Why don't you make it the UALCC rather than just LCCCC?
I think at the moment its not only a club to get people from LCC cycling together, but also to improve facilities for cyclists.
The name is a bit ott to be fair, but I'm just the messenger.
I'd just like to see more students instead of teachers, one lady turned up who didn't even have a bike!!
And Sem, a LCC - Goldsmiths bike off sounds great, in 2010 perhaps.

I study Graphics & Spatial Design at the LCC, riding a raw/clear-coated frame, SPDs, black drops, silver wheels. Nothing fancy but will not be nicked!
Whoever is responsible for arranging the LCCCC meeting times:
Please try to arrange the meetings in the late afternoon as 13.00 will clash with most students' timetable! I will not be able to attend as my lunch is from 12.30-13.00. Would be good if there's a website or email news-letter so people have access to the information even if they can't attend the meetings.Happy to help in any capacity. Can offer web design, photography, flyers, posters and spreading the word. Contact me via PM/email.

You must mean 3/11.

Yeah, sorry, thanks for that.
Do you guys know the tutor David Phillips? He's the one who set the LCCCC up, email him if you have any questions

Haha, that sounds sweet.
There is a meeting tomorrow at 13.30 in D105 for anyone who is interested. Looks like it could be quite a good club with rides, racing, rollapaluza, beers, film nights, tools etc...
If you can't make it tomorrow but are still interested, then drop either me, 1gear or citygent a PM.
Cheers. -

Sorry, just realized that I hadn't read any of the third page.
We'll pass on the feedback about times and hopefully sort something out which suits better. -

Had a nice flyer stapled around my frame when I left LCC tonight! Sorry I couldn't make it but the times clashed with my lecture. What was being discussed today?

woo looking forward to a bike-off in 2010!
keep us posted on how this club goes - be good to get some communication going between the two - if only just to share ideas etc.
been trying to figure out how to encourage people at college who don't cycle and perhaps don't think they want to, to try it out / get on a bike. suggestions welcome.....
also just generally, i am quite surprised that most universities don't appear to have similar clubs in place, and that there is no nation-wide student cycling scheme in place in the UK (that i am aware of, anyway...correct me if i'm wrong :-) Seems an ideal group to be targeting to start riding.....seeing as we are all skint and have so much time on our hands ;-)
good luck with your club, let us know how you get on with it and feel free to bounce ideas back and forth / join forces in the future to do something....... :)

Just had a meeting - not a great turn out, but we covered some good points none the less.
Firstly, all of the alumni / people from other colleges, who are interested, are welcome to join.
We have decided that we are going to use the Facebook group LCCCC as the primary way of communicating about meetings etc... whilst we set up a blog site. Please become part of the group to receive updates; I'll try and post things on here when I remember but facebook would be much easier for you to stay in the loop.
We are thinking about having an introductory ride at the end of the month - maybe Critical Mass, what does everyone think?
How would everyone feel about the club becoming part of the Student Union? This would mean that we could have a treasurer and a bit more structure to the club. It should also allow more people to hear about it and become involved.
UAL Polo League, Alleycats & bike-offs would be great.
Any ideas are very welcome & spread the word! -

Not that I'm at UAL anymore but why use facebook as your primary way of communicating? I would've thought that automatically excludes people that aren't members of facebook.
And if you're looking for lots of people to join then why make it just for LCC, your bound to get a larger response if you make it UAL surely? -
• #115
Please keep well away from critical mass. Don't want to be part of that movement but happy to be part of LCCCC/UAL.

Hey Angus. The facebook is just a temporary thing whilst we set up the blog and it his the largest group of people on it. I will post on here when we are set to have meetings etc... until we have a proper way of communicating.
It is primarily designed to be for LCC, as the people who set it up wanted to address some of the specific problems at LCC, such as the lack of bike space. We are open though for other people to join and maybe in the future it will become a UAL club.
I am with you on not wanting to go to Critical Mass, went last Friday and didn't believe in it. We'll sort something out that can get everyone together when it suits though. If you have any ideas then let one of us know. -

Boom. +1 LCC. I need to get my mercian put back together though. Is there going to be a another ride anytime soon?
-
• #119
Just wanted to check the progress of the website/blog of the LCCCC as I have deleted my Facebook account and would like to stay informed.
-
• #120
As far as a know, little if any progress has been made with the website.
It would be good to have a UAL ride though, maybe at the end of January?
-
• #121
definitely, last one was excellent / i got lost in about 5 minutes, but catching up with everyone was awesome.

i just liked how the first accident happened about 30 seconds after we set off, typical art students...
-
• #124
that's funny. i had a stupid accident 5 minutes into leading our society out on our first 'outing' too. doh.
we're having a rollapaluza at Goldsmiths soon - will post the details up here in the next week or so- be a good chance for the UAL club to come down and er, kickstart a healthy rivalry ;)

I'm definitely up for a ride soon. More mid feb though - easier on deadlines etc. Also bike should be ready by then.
