  • do you have a picture of the r/h crank....it might help you get the right year!

  • I,ll try to work out how to get a photo on to the posting.

  • I've got a complete 7400 chainset but I want to sell it complete.

  • Photo of Right Hand crank

  • Failed!

  • are you talking about the Dura Ace EX / 7400 chainset =?

    Cheers

  • Photo?

  • are those the ones you looking for or not ?

    Cheers

  • Older than the 7400 type.Probably the ORIGINAL Dura-ace.Trying to download photo.

  • ok your talking about 1st gen dura ace . black label on the crank arm where the dura ace lettering is . i wish i had a set . but i dont .

    Cheers

  • I'm afraid I'm looking for the same thing. I have an early DA track chainset -the left hand crank snapped a few years ago and I've never been able to replace it. Mine's a 165 arm and the dura-ace stamp is all silver (no black infill).

  • Dunno if this helps, it's from my bike fitted with Dura Ace EX from, i think, '78ish

HI the EX , AX groups , came later .
You have the real deal , as shimano Started their first "Professional" groups right there with what you have .
that is a lovely example of the 1st gen Dura Ace chainset you have

    Cheers
    /S

  • That is what I am searching for! But without the black paint.
    John.

  • Me two! If you get offered a second one, please let me know. A few years ago a guy emailed me saying that he collected exactly type of groupset and had a number of them but I can't find his details anywhere now :-(

  • Hi,
Thanks for the comments, i'm pretty sure the groupset on mine is EX though (Introduced 1978) I think it's the 7200 series - it still has the decal on the downtube although oddly the levers have been changed - trying to find some if anyone know's of any (sorry don't want to hijack your thread though!)
I've got a few more pics here for anyone interested:

  • Hi Johnny (or any other vintage Shimano owner) - can you confirm the BCD as I'm pretty sure mine is 151mm, although this seems slightly odd. I have some spare chainrings (50 + 53) and wondered if I could source any other compatible cranks.

    Cheers, Tom

  • Hi Tom,
The crank length I am looking for is 170mm.
    Regards
    John

  • Thanks - I've popped mine on Ebay now but it's a 165mm anyway (the BCD is 151).

    T

  • OP the pic you posted is that of a Shimano Dura Ace FC-7110

Look at the insert page with the crank on the red wood surface top right
