  • just got my first roll off my Olympus XA2 back.... nothing special, but it seems fairly decent for a £10 ebay find.

i keep forgetting to adjust the focus!

  • Nice work. XA2 is nice camera. XA originale even better, and XA4 best of the bunch for its lovely wide lens. All more expensive than the plain old '2 though. Unfortunately the electromagnetic shutter release has gone on mine and I haven't got round to getting another yet.

  • XA is SEXAY

  • In case you're still looking, I have an Olympus OM10 (with manual adapter) that I no longer use
(I'm keeping my OM1 though, unless someone offers me silly money for it)

Yo. By any chance is this a black version? And what lenses do you have for it?
    Ta buddy.

    Looking food with the B and W . .

  • Took these on a bike ride in the summer with my Canon AE-1 Program, fucking love it.

  • I picked this Canonet up on ebay the other day. Just finished replacing the light seals and cleaning inside the viewfinder. First roll of film is loaded up and ready to go :)

  • since the canonet use the old battery, the newer battery is slighty more powerful and will overexposed the image a tad, this can be solved by simply changing the ISO on the camera, if your film is 100 ISO, set the camera to 200 ISO and you'll be fine (if you use the new battery).

  • they is nice
might have to get me one of them at some point
I'm loving the Fuji Klasse (Rollei AFM35) at the moment

  • I'm after a cheap Nikon FM if poss and would prefer not to get it off the bay. Is anyone a member of another photo forum that they can recommend? I'm on photographyforum.org but there's not much happening in the trading post.

I've been reading about this. I've put in an air cell hearing aid battery, its 1.4v compared to 1.35 for the original mercury so hopefully wont make a difference.

God I love this place. Interested. PM the details if you would kind sir.

  • Have PM'd spaghettihoops.

But I'm wondering about the canon ae-1 or similar Vs the Nikon F range. Any preferences out there?

  • The idea of ultimate cameras came to light on the Tilt-Shift thread.

Disregarding digital cameras (obviously, given the subject matter of this thread), what's your choice(s)?

    Mine are:

    35mm:
    Olympus OM-1n (main)
    Olympus OM-3 (back up); OM-3Ti (2nd back-up); or

Pentax KX (main); Ricoh KR 5 Super (2nd main)
    Pentax MX (back up); or

    Leica R6.2 (main)
    Leica R6 (back up)

    120/MF:
    Rollei SL66, or
    Pentacon Six TL, or
    Mamiya C330

All fully mechanical. Olympus and Rollei are my top choices, but the others are okay-ish.

    EDIT:

If I were to choose cameras with any auto functions, they would only be these:

    Leica R8 or
    ContaxRTS III or

    Rollei6008

  • i want the new 24mm TSE canon lens but am not ready to commit £1800 on something i'm not going to use very often.
can't think of any camera that i desire? maybe the leica m9 (if it's any good as the M8 was shite)
that leica S2 is a bit of a joke only bankers and lawyers will buy them to show to their friends before a round of golf.

  • How about a Linhof 220b?

I would love to have an Alpa!

Digital; I'll gladly take a M9 (or something bigger).

    ... the M8 was shite ...
Far from ideal, but shite ?!?

  • Came across some more film today - and my Polaroid camera, which'll definitely see more action now...

Also made the decision to get rid of all my film kit - apart from my 1952 Halina A1. I'll be posting it here when I get broadband at the flat, but highlights are my Olympus 35SP rangefinder, and my Paterson developing/darkroom kit - developing tank, concertina bottles, film clips, light-tight bag etc.

Will be sad to see it go, but being honest, I've barely used it all since I got my D200...

  • I'm interested in some film and we'll gladly take darkroom equipment in our currently mythical lfgss darkroom.

it gave a magenta cast to anything that was black and needed a special filter over the lens to get decent images. the filter should have been over the chip, amazing how they missed this fact when developing the camera.
the M9 looks like it's fully sorted though :-)

  • Bit of a long shot but does anyone have a lightbox that they are looking to sell? It needs to be A3 or could be a bit larger. I have an A3 one that I could swap for it, the only thing wrong with mine is that it has lips on the sides that seriously obstruct me when I'm trying to work, it's also a cheap piece of crap.
This is the kind of thing I'm looking for:

  • yes i have one. i need to dig it out though. it's a3 and has smooth edges.
    will take some pics tomorrow.

i also have a schneider loupe that i may sell.

  • YES!!!! Thanks a lot MrSmyth. Do you have any idea of roughly how much you'd want for it?

  • no. you will make me an offer i can't refuse.
it's an expensive one IIRC it was over £150 when new.
i may however sweeten the deal if i find some film while digging around or possibly some nice plastic crops stolen from metro if i can find them.

edit the loupe is a 4x one.
