What the light needs is the full on setting for when it's competing with ambient urban light (or stuff like daytime TTs on dual carriageways), and a setting for just the 2 LEDs without the 1/2 Watt job, for group night riding.

I'll get busy with my soldering iron this weekend and see what I can come up with.
