You could use bubble gum to hold them together, there are reasons why you don't. MIG welders don't have tight enough tolerances to work with thin bike tubing, and they are bad at keeping up speed around curved surfaces. Sure any one who can work a hot glue gun can work a MIG welder but that doesn't make it the best option. Leaning how to TIG well enough to hold pieces together passably takes about 16-20 hours, time well spent.
Hell, with self darkening hood and pulsed welders you can look at what your doing when you spark your bead and you don't have to dip the rod, shouldn't even take you that long. just dont tough the rod with the tungsten. That hurts.
