Hey - the tandem is almost identical to a tandem frame I have - does it have 2 lamp bosses on the forks?
If anyone has any ideas/info on what it might be please post.

I think it's the gaffer tape, but the tandem looks like a death trap. But I desperately want it.

Tommy- I have room for it on my roof under a tarp if you need to store it.
I could also show it too Fenella just in case she likes the idea- hint hint.

The tape is only there to hold the brake cable onto the frame when I thorough some wheels on there to have a spin round the block. As I said it's a project frame, b.b and headset has been overhauled, it only needs the simple job of a few new bit like wheels and gear then bolting it all together, it's more of a job that requires money than any skill.
List of needed bits
brakes
levers
shifter
rear derailleur
cables
cable stops and guides
inner tubes
new bars
maybe seats and rear post.
pedals could be replaced too, the front set have little grip. All simple stuff.

No only one lamp boss from memory, I'd like some info too, all I know is it's old!

The guy I bought mine off dated it post war... just. Early 50s I think.
jeanmi posted a msg on my wall just after I bought it saying mine looked v similar to a Holdsworth he had.
I think mine is a continental verson of whatever it is, hence the double lamp bosses...
...still I have no idea what it is and still need to build it up for me and my gf.

Interesting, I was guessing at late 40 - early 50s too just by the look of the lugs, very industrial.

Come on people take the tandem, I've seen many a normal bike go for this much in a similar state, I may be open to offers...

Tandem provisionally sold too. Thanks all.
The tandem is an unfinished project. Would make a grate project for someone with the room for it. I have stripped it completly down, and regrease b.b and headset, given it a quick paint job and roughly built it up but it really needs to be finished of properly. It currently only needs gears and brakes to get it running although it's ghetto single speed at the moment. The handlebars are a bit junk but they are just something I throw on the bike to be able to roll it around.
Looking at it I would guess that it must be a 40 - 50's machine, but I'm no expert, defiantly very old. A real classic and deserve to be restored.
Excellent winter project.
Components
Wheels are weinmann 27", 5 speed block (cheap rear mtb wheel in photo)
cranks are original cottered
pilots seat post is original with attachment for stoker handlebars
handlebars are as I said some crapy ones I though on as are the brakes.
I'm just shy of 6'2" and the girlfriend is just under 5'3", it's a little too small for me but can be made to work as seen above.
I only want to cover my costs so I'm looking for £90 o.n.o delivered to London £80 o.n.o delivered to B'mouth area.
I can supply plenty of photos but once I bring it to London you have to take it as I have no room to store it in London, effectively this is like ebay in that respect. Sorry. IT would probably be delivered on a Sunday afternoon / evening.
Second Item is a classic shopper, real beautiful bike, needs a good clean up.
