I'd ride with it for a couple of weeks. I've often found pedals, headsets and things can feel a bit scratchy at first, but then settle down. Cheap MKS pedals for example... mine have all felt like shit for the first 400 miles, then they're fine. I don't know if they smooth out or whether the grease spreads or something?
