    wind them right in, your legs will always be strong enough to un-clip.

    Are you talking road peds or MTBs?

    I'm a newbie to cleats and clippy peds, so all (good) advice gratefully received, and it's been one of the things that worries me - getting my feet out in an emergency. I'm using SPDs with single-release cleats, because up hills, I do so much pulling up with the rear foot, I don't want them pulling out. Cos whenever I've tried to uclip hurredly, the pedal has won over panicked-leg-flailing and only a positive sideways kick seems to do the trick.

    Should I think about switching to multi-release cleats? Do they cause unwanted unclipping on hills?
