  • My favorite curry vendor in London is actually Pakistani, and they're Muslords aren't they.

The threads probably moved on now to some tynan fuelled religous rant but thought id mention that Hindu Restaurants are actually extremely rare.

For two main reasons, as a social group Hindu's (which are mainly indian) sought out different industries to the bengali & pakistani immigrants who flocked here to work in factories/textile trades during the 50's-60's and later restaurants past the 70's. They never came here in as big numbers and were more culturally inclined to either more academic industries or grocery shops.

The other reason is that Hindu's are traditionally Vegetarian so proper hindu restaurants do not have broad enough an appeal. They do however have successful shops selling smaller treats like indian sweets & samosas etc. Of which you would still only get in an area with enough indian customers.
