A story with win, hope your day continues as it has begun.

Awesome, I had a similar experience on the route to work today. Seemed to take no time at all and my legs felt great despite a weekend of too much drinking and not enough sleeping.

Pfft I decided to ride my 10 year old moumtaim bike to work today, and it felt as though my rear brake was dragging, but I wrote it off as I've never commuted on that bike and though it was the massive tyre, after getting 10 miles into work I checked, it was. Feel shattered now!

Ha - same thing myself today - not enough sleep but fast ride into work. Had a brilliant little bit of dodgems on Hammersmith Rd - cars pulling out from junctions on left and right, nodders stopped in the middle of the lane to turn, a bus pulling out without indicating... slalomed through them all, made a non-aggressive 'what the fuck' arm gesture to the bus driver and escaped down a side street. Lovely.

yeah yeah ^^^ feelin that one. ha.
I left my street same time as a white beemer, who booted out his starting fumes as he overtook me towards the main road.
Shortly after, I smoothly filtered through the queue that had formed just down on the main road, passing the beemer. Made the 2 km ish into town without seeing him again, lost schlepping along in motor misery. -

I've jsut had a brilliant morning too. Been very down recently with self-doubt over returning to uni, leaving my job. This morning I felt very secure and safe in the arms of my dearest. It was amazing. Let's hope the rest of the day carries on like this.

Been using the car for last two weeks as my company's lease car that I used to use to go see clients has gone. Tell ya, commuting by car is so fucking dumb it's untrue....oh....look....I just moved forwards three feet in the queue for lights...yay, go me....

My morning has also been excellent so far. We've just bought a coffee machine at work and the heating is on. And I got to listen to Jon Brion on the way in this morning. The only flaw so far is that it was on a bus.

Must be something in the air today. Was considering pulling a sickie after a crappy weekend and a shit night's sleep. All that melted away on the ride in, flying along with minimal effort. Now I'm looking forward to my ride home, just got to survive the next 5 and a half hours.

I'm another one riding the bizarre wave of an effortless ride to work. Left 5 mins late, stoppped half way to tweak handlebars, arrived 5 minutes earlier than usual. And the OKR was beautifully traffic free too. Lovely.

I caught the Tube and read more of my book. That was pretty effortless.
I love treating myself to a sleep-in and rest on the Tube after a painful Sunday.

Tail wind?
I rode frikken miles this weekend. Well my arse feels like it did anyway. Considered tubing it for saddle-sore leg-rest and book action too. Ended up plodding in at nodder pace.
The magike in thee aire didn't reach me i'm afraid. Maybe i'll get aquapower swim mojo later instead? Hope so.
More coffee.

I slept in long enough that my coffee machine had turned off and cooled down. Coffee Buzz.

after months of riding to work fixed, up and down the steep hills of south central birmingham, either grinding up them, or spinning out down them - and arriving at work soaked with sweat...
this morning i put my road shoes on and clipped into weekend roadie... now *That *was effortless - why do i put myself in discomfort by choice everyday? ... I don't know.

Some days things just fit and go well.
Congrats and hope it sticks all day

Every time I expected to feel tired I had more energy to come- spinning out down Jamaica road with a chap on a road bike centimetres from my rear wheel and I didn't mind at all.
Today by some measure was the happiest Monday morning I've had in a long long time.Ah! You good man!! A guy totally freaked out the other day as I was following him too close (the wind was strong is my excuse...)
I was told this is "wrong etiquette" arround here... I won't do it again then... pfffGlad for your good start of the day man!

I'm with dooks, this uplifting tale reeks of tail wind to me...
-
• #19
If so it is a) a tail wind that made me very happy, and b) it's clearly my personal tail wind as it followed me around corners onto new headings.
That tail wind can appear every morning, as long as it does not need feeding like the cats.

I had a dream the other day about a perpetual tailwind. Not sure I was actually the protaganist of the dream, but he kept entering races and having to be sneaky that he didn't get other riders caught in it or they would all know his secret.

Being more of a Geek I wanted to be able to alter the angle of gravity in relation to me- so that in effect I'd be riding down hill whilst on the flat.
Obviously I could (in my day dream) alter the angle that Gravity was acting upon me on the fly as it were, so for example neutralising the effect of climbing a hill etc.
I have extremely lazy day dreams.

I have extremely retarded day dreams and I am a mental.
Fixed... ;P x

I had a day dream while I was a kid. I'd look out of the side window when I was in the car and pretend I was running at the same speed, a few hundred yards in the distance. Going over the hedges, under power lines, slaloming through lines of trees. Bit of a game with myself to see if I could pick a good route quick enough.

if it was a tail wind then i experienced it too, which means two things.
1) i better try and fix my rear brake before i head home
2) im going to have a very hard ride home.
Warning, this thread has little point
Went to bed quite late last night, didn't sleep well.
Got up, fed the cats, ironed a shirt, cup of tea and fag on the balcony.
Greated by a grey and dark Monday morning complete with light drizzle.
Started turning the cranks and I felt good- actually better than good, I felt great.
It was as if I'd been riding recently with the brake dragging (I checked, it hadn't been).
I went along my normal commute like a missile, going faster and faster for the sheer joy of it.
Every time I expected to feel tired I had more energy to come- spinning out down Jamaica road with a chap on a road bike centimetres from my rear wheel and I didn't mind at all.
Today by some measure was the happiest Monday morning I've had in a long long time.
