Yes I am going to ride it, fix the wood rims and build up a modern set of wheels with Velocity teak rims for everyday rides. Actually it is a 1898 not a 1889 , I flipped the numbers. It looks much cooler with the original stem and bars , just did not have them handy when taking the picture.
Thanks for the comments on the Atala , I just bought it a couple of weeks ago from the original owner , it came an extra campy wheelset , five campy chainrings and 14 rear cogs. I sold off all of the extra parts and got enough cash to pay for the bike, so I guess I can say it was a free bike.
