Definitely along lunch, I started at about 2.30 pm and went back to the office at about 7.30 pm.
That's the only problem with cycling and a nice day it reeks havoc on doing any work ! -

It's far quicker than other way of getting round London, it's fun, you get to enjoy the city more - feel closer to it. I just love leaving my house and being at college 15 minutes of fast riding later - I feel very happy when I get there, no matter how tired I was when I left my house

I live right out near Maidenhead. I sling my bike on the train and either end up (30-50 mins later, £11 lighter) in Paddington or Marylebone.
Today I came in just to deliver a helmet to Kris (East End Images -nice to meet you mate), get some beans from Monmouth Coffee in Borough Market, and pick up/drop off a portfolio.
I could have mailed the helmet, I could have bought the coffee on the net, I could have had a courier pick up and redeliver the folio. But screw that. Any excuse to cycle round town, even if it was drizzling when I left home.
I do this often, if I have the time and the flimsiest of excuse.

The buzz, the bolt, the sheer fuckoffness of it all.

why do i ride? because its cheap, quick, easy and gives much a much greater freedom compared to public transport or driving within a city.
things i love about riding - the buzz and general feeling of riding through traffic, riding fast but knowing your legs still have another "gear" left in them, spinning till sickness follows, skidding between tiny gaps in traffic, racing commuters and winning every time etc

racing commuters and winning every time etc
I love that

I love that
i was in london last week and i found it hilarious the amount of commuter warriors who think they've got "game" when they sprint off from the lights only to be passed almost straight away by someone with one gear on a much much cheaper bike.
even better is when you're just going at a very gentle pace and you see someone huffing and puffing whilst spinning their arse off to pass you and then the look of disappointment on their face when you casually speed off in front just to let them know their place.petty? me?

ah mondays.. full of meetings / emails / / phone messages / grief on site, contractors and client going bananas about all the stuff i promised last thursday..
-
• #64
why hate on Mondays. Its the beginning of the end of the week
-

because the contractors work all weekend / and alot of over nights.. monday is the best day to catch up, we are restoring a west end theatre whilst it is live.. that's eight shows a week.. we usually work with a three month closure over the summer.. not this time.. i hope this does not become the norm.. anyway.. after this one it could be malta for six months.. whey hey..

So that I can drink large quantities of real ale with impunity.
+1 I live for Fridays. Nothing more Zen than a push from Camden to South Norwood after a skinful.

Generally speaking, it's so I can spout puerile pseudo-philosophical sexist shit about ribena to racist, homophobic apple-pie fans that drive lamborghinis into white vans while alcoholics on light blue skiddie fixers whizz idly by.
Generally speaking. And also so I could get an avatar of my face in various stages of a shave on LFGSS.
I'd do it for 10.
