Picked up my "Rosie" from Scott last thurs eve. First off it looks good. Compact and just the right size. I've been trying other non bike specific pouches and there all either to big or too small for my purpose/get in the way when peddling.
This is my first grobag and as everyone else raves about, the build quality is outstanding. Feels robust, nice thick waterproof lining and the pouch looks like if you take a fall it will stand up to the abuse
Loaded it up on Fri morning and went off down to Charlton on a little errand. The various loops on the outside are the stuff of genius. The blinky loop on the outside pocket flap is big enough for my superflash as well as my knog beetle, in fact it's just about big enough for my superflash and two knog beetle's (I have two because I i lost the first one liked it enough to buy another and then found the first) so thats the lights sorted.
The lock loops are again a nifty bit of thinking. From the piccy's they only look big enough for an evo mini but if you fold them outways you can get bigger lock on - brilliant inventiveness on Scotts part. The "rosie" easily accomodated my Abus granite X. This really sorted my lock carrying problem, as I use a granite X and a fug mini. I was attaching both to my frame which is deffo not ideal. So now I have the fug on the frame and the Granite on the rosie which is way more convienient. Whilst standing, the Granite felt a little heavy on the "rose"/my waist but when on the bike (almost immediatly) I couldn't feel the weight at all and comfortably rode from Peckham to Charlton without noticing a thing. I'm not sure exactly how this works - probably more Scott voodoo? One thing i was worried about in the past about carrying a lock on my waist, was falling onto it. But because I'm carrying an innertube in the "rosie" and this is between my hip and the locks cross bar it deffo feels loads more cushioned and would absorb a lot of the impact (not exactly sure how scientific this is but thats how it feels anyway)
The micro/mini pump loops are also an excellent idea as they are elastic and can strech to accomodate larger mini pumps than the topeak micro pump in Scotts piccies (I also have this topeak micro). However I was a bit paranoid that they may not always securely hold the pump in place and the pump could possibly slip out and as I'm poor and cant afford to lose a £20 pump. Scott recommends wrapping some leccy tape around one end but I think this recommendation was for the first batch and the subsequent batch loops are tighter so no reall need for the leccy tape now . Personally I got over my paranoia by attaching a couple of spare lock blocks (those thingies that attach torches to handle bars to turn them into bike lights) to the pump loops and then securing the pump to the lockblocks - now that pump aint coming off until i want it off.
Onto the inside compartments. For such a small pouch the "rosie" is like the feckin Tardis. In Scotts picture's it looks like there are only two compartments, but there are actually three. The first one at the front is for credit cards but its large enough not only for my cards but my phone as well! So thats where it will be living from now on. The second comparment is a wide bellows comparment and takes an inner tube. I also fitted my multi tool in there but there'se easily STILL room in there for something else such as an average size wallet!! The third compartment is narrower but a little taller. To be honest this pouch is so good I've ran out of the things thats I carry around on a day to day basis to put anything in there but you could easily get a small note book or something in there. There's also a zip pocket on the flap. It looks quite small until you unzip it and then the actual length of it becomes apparent. Again, I've ran out of things to carry and simply put some patches and rubber cement in there
There are also two narrow side pouches designed for tyre levers. One is actually enough and I can fit all three tyre levers in one so i just put a pen in the other. But if you wanted, continuing the multi functionality of the "Rosie", instead of using the pump loops for your pump a micro pump easily fits into one of the side pockets.
If like me you just dont want to carry a bag around this i by far the best £45 i spent on a bike accessory
