  • ya man i not met you as far as i know, but let us know what corner of the Royal you are lurking in - if im in the area i can pop in and deliver some yum smoothies or some other liquidated foodstuff.

hope you have fun room-mates and thank god for wifi!

  • Hey, heal up quick.

New to this so can't start a new post, but just heard from a friend, also last night in East London..

"Last night while cycling home the passenger of a passing car pushed me off my bike. I fell really badly and have been in hospital ever since. Fractured hip. Can't really walk at present. Be careful on the roads... :-/"

Last I heard he may need a new hip.. wtf?

  • ^^ hope your friend gets better soon.

  • Yes, let us know where you are, Gordon, so we can visit.

That sort of disgusting assault definitely deserves its own thread. Do post some more and start one. It's quite a separate category to collisions.

  • Hoonz: that sounds awful. Please get better soon.

PMK: So sorry to hear of such an incident. Have you contacted the Police?

  • @ PMK, as Oliver said, that is a disgusting assault. really hope the police get hold of them. some people really are scumbags.

Hoonz, sounds extremely painful, good luck with your recovery. Hope your bike is in better shape than your jaw!

  • hey, hope you heal up soon. you are in great hands in the royal london, even if it feels like it hasn't changed for the last 100 years. however much they clean, it always still feels dirty! but the docs and nurses are awesome.

  • Hoonz. I hope you recover quickly and fully. Glad that you are at least able to post and not even mor ehurt.

Who called the ambulance? Did they see anything?

    How's your bike?

  • Sounds like what happened to one of the guys that worked for our company after xmas drinks. Pissed as a newt (they drink a bit apparently) and rode straight into the back of a parked car. He had a messy face and had to pay for the damage to the car.. doh!

Hope you heal quickly and with any luck find out what happened.

  • it's insane.. and nothing but malicious.
thankfully it sounds like he won't need the hip replacement op, but can't imagine he'll be back on his feet for a while

@Multi Grooves I think the police have been contacted, although not hearing too many details at the minute.

@Oliver will keep posting and start a new thread...

  • Get well soon ya hoon, sounds horrible. I shudder to think what that must have felt like. bit mad you can't remember much. This Luke person... wasn't luckyskull was it? I think there's a luckyskull.

+1 on the outreach programme of the LFGSS benevolent society ... ask us for whatever and you shall receive ... as along as its relatively legal.

    Rest up, mate.

  • im in the harrison ward at the royal london in whitechapel. folks should feel free to drop by if they wish. gordon skinner is the name to use, saying youre there to visit hoonz wont get you very far.
im gonna follow the luckyskull lead, cheers skully.

  • Visiting hours

Most wards are open to visitors from 3pm to 4.30pm and from 7pm to 8.30pm. In special circumstances, visitors may be admitted at additional times. Up to two visitors will be allowed by your bedside at any time. If you’re receiving treatment when your visitors arrive, they may be asked to wait.

Londons' Famous Royal London Hospital visiting hours for anyone in the area that wants to pop up and send best wishes.

  • Commiseration to you Hoonz and PMK's friend, do you know that there's now a seperate rider down forum? So we can keep track of incidents.

  • popped in on my way home tonight to see gordon- nothing like being woken up by a complete random stranger when you've just fractured your face and are dosed up on pk's....

heal up soon yo and please get in touch if you need anything - pass that way all the time x

  • ....luckily he is back up, well sort of: fractured eye socket and jaw. not completely clear what happened, hit by a Van Friday night. currently in hospital. I'm sure he would appreciate a get well wish from the forum.
