Hills or Long?

• #28
I saw someone with a set of those bars today ^^ riding through the city. carbon zipp wheels, everything all carbon carbon carbon and** riding around the city**!
this was aimed at the zipp bars.
Although timmy has a point, I have so many tight gaps to fit between on the cycle ways on my normal trip that it would make so much sense.

Hills or Long?
I am not sure which I will put 1st on my application thing yet. Still got a couple of months.
I think I could get into Hills but I'm not sure if I really want to go there.
Do you go to either atm? -

And where else?! Turn left into hackney and you will find yourself in the gutter with a sudden memory loss.

Do you go to either atm?I'm in U6 at Hills. All depends on your work ethic to be honest. Most people do really well but it's hard work and I've pretty much failed cos I can't be arsed.
Which subjects are you looking at?

Anyway, next time I will think before starting a thread. This was stupid and I could have achieved the same thing by just thinking.
Kids of today eh?. Trying to achieve a solution to a problem by using the internet when it could have been done by 'just thinking'! We're doomed I tell ye.
But you do write very well bbq tom so top marks for that.

you're only doing a 5 miles commute and you're worried about the handlebar? j
just choose a handlebar that you feel comfortable with, not according to the status quo of a brakeless fixie skidder you silly cucumber.
Awesome catchphrase... Don't overuse it, Ed... ;]

I just noticed the poll at the top. Very funny.

See, this is the problem: I don't think I can be arsed.
I know that if I slack a bit at Hills I will fall far behind and do poorly overall.
Whereas if I slack a bit at Long, I can still get decent grades without much work.
Of course, if I put in the effort I could probably do better at Hills but umm... **UNLIKELY**I'm waiting to go to the open evenings before narrowing down subjects, but I know I will have a look at:
- Maths
- Sociology
- Tourism/Travel
- English Language
- Psychology
- Geography
- Business
I will almost definitely do maths wherever I go.
Sorry everyone, this is branching off into an unrelated conversation.

My advice, I have dealt with this before. Don't use imitation anything. Get 18.3" annodised red B-259AAnitto risers. The perfect width and hue for 5.5 mile commutes with 3.5 miles out of town. If there is a clear boundry to the town drop your saddle 5 mil when going in, raise when coming out.
Drop your gearing to 71.2. Eat an extra 450 calories for breakfast (goji berries?) . Watch Channel 5 occasionally. Find something in your parents home, sell it on ebay (maybe a clock?) and use the proceeds at hubjub.co.uk. Parody yourself, make a poll to decide if you should by semi-skimmed or full fat. Only go brakeless on Thursdays.

Welcome to londonfgss. You will fit right in. (although people don't tend to derail their own threads.)

To be honest slacking a bit at Hills is fine as long as you're smart enough to sort it out. I slacked a lot and I'm paying for it now; got a shitload of retakes in January as well as some A2 modules.
I'm pretty sure Long has a much higher dropout rate, though. I guess people just get bored doing nothing at college and decide they'd rather do nothing at home instead.
I think probably on balance people who go to Long enjoy it more than people who go to Hills, but it is a completely different environment and some people strive at one and would do shite at the other. Just don't get sucked into the Hills>Long>CRC shit because it's bollocks. To be honest I hate Hills because almost all my friends are in the year above and have all left so I'm bored. Lessons and teachers on the whole are good, though, and the workload isn't unbearable if you manage to keep up with it.
Wherever you go you'll probably have a good time, assuming you've got mates who are there and stuff. Just go to the open days and get a feel for both. Just wherever you go do some work for AS. It's proper shit having loads to do this year.
Anyway, /essay.
PS. I do both English Language and Sociology and they're probably my two favourite subjects. Although out of 3 I guess that doesn't say all that much.

More advice. Start a poll like this. What type of rides do you prefer? Hills or Long. then whatever the Londonfgss membership decide just go to the college of the same name. Might work?

Pretty much. The G-factor is pretty accurately defined by the number of mopeds parked outside.

Barring the fact that I was the first to respond to this thread.
Hence my (rapidly decreasing) interest...

Dude I ride with a straight and put up with 50 miles a day.
And you're complaining about 5 miles?Shame on you, shame on you.

Dude I ride with a straight and put up with 50 miles a day.
People seem to complain that 15 / 20 miles is the max they can do with risers/flats.
Good to know that 20 is not the maximum mileage with risers. I will probably go for some flats or risers in the not too distant future.
These Nitto bullhorn/pursuit bars might do the trick.
