As others have said, for 5 miles it makes no difference as you will barely be warmed up. Where it may make a difference is if you go brakeless. I personally find risers/flats much better than drops as the hands are in a better position with a proper grip (I don't like the tops of drops as too narrow and no leverage) I also find risers much better for jumping up and down curbs etc,. as drops just feel wrong.
I do immediately miss the drops when 'racing' another cyclist or when there is a headwind.
