None of this shit is actually rare in the way an antique is rare, they simply push the stop button on the machine after a short while and then hype the demand. Loads of brands do it and it's all about exclusivity. They have about as much intrinsic value as a wham bar.

a mate of mine designed some toys for kidrobot, i don't get it but they sold out straight away which is just as well as you don't get paid a lump sum you just get a royalty fee for each set sold.
