Are you tempted to sell if you can't find a trade?
-
• #3
I would rather trade as I'd rather have a new frame than the cash for a new frame, if that makes sense, but if it's a decent offer of course I'll consider it.

Yeah, that makes sense. Probably way out of my price range, but its a very sweet frame, must be gutting it doesn't fit!

What do you consider a decent offer?

Roy Thame was manager of the Holdsworth Pro team in the 1970s......then.....this gets complicated WF Holdsworth marque was bought by another company who would not let Holdsworth market frames with the name Holdsworth......so the Holdsworth frames became Roy Thame frames!....sadly he died a couple of years ago...as sad is that WF Holdsworth...still in Putney no longer build their own frames......end of nostalgic bit!...ps [a] too big for me [b] skint anyway [c] glad it is too big [d] not glad that i'm skint , however!.......[e] lovely, lovely frame...good luck with the sale.

I'll take a photo of the dents and one with wheels on tomorrow. Never ridden a lo pro before but I'd certainly be interested if I could try it out first.

Thanks for the quick reply.
May I ask a couple of questions?
Where in London would the pick-up be from?
Are you the original poster/seller?

nothing to do with me, i just saw it earlier.
I put this up a while ago (http://www.londonfgss.com/thread25156.html) but I was in the middle of moving house and I never sorted anything out. The frame hasn't been on the road since then and has been in storage gathering dust, it's really nice and needs to be ridden! I wish I could use it but it's just too big for me.
Looking to trade for something around 54/55cm but will consider offers of part-exchange or if you have a frame you want to sell me.
Details:
Reynolds 531 tubing, 58cm c-c, c-t. Campagnolo Chorus Headset, Miche Primato BB.
Powdercoated at Armourtex in April 09, with brand new decals from H Lloyd Cycles (http://www.hlloydcycles.com/) these have not had a clearcoat over them so you could remove if you want.
Campagnolo fork and track ends (unfortunately you can only just make out the engraving through the powdercoat), forks are drilled for a front brake with the rear of the hole enlarged to take a modern brake caliper.
Clearances are pretty tight, unfortunately haven't had a chance to take a photo with wheels but I can do if there's interest.
Couple of tiny dents on the top tube, one of which is underneath the top tube protector (obviously I added it too late!) which is a hand stitched piece of brown leather. Not particularly noticeable or structurally problematic. Everything else is straight and true.
The stem is also stuck as the hex key bolt has been rounded off, obviously you could remove this by removing the headset, it's a fairly nice (Atax) stem anyway, though it could do with a polish.
Roy Thame worked for Holdsworth cycles and you can read more about him here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holdsworth), the serial number is stamped on steerer and I have photos of this before the headset was put on at home somewhere if you're interested.
Thanks for looking.
