Did you think this about the last person who gave you a lift? Come on man, we're all bastards on our bad days, it's not contingent on our choice of transport. I don't need a car to behave like a jerk, and riding a bicycle doesn't make me a better person either.
On a different subject, any votes on the sharpest looking bike of the evening? My favourite was the super clean grey Mercian belonging to a young asian guy. Bravo mate your taste is impeccable (not to mention pockets deep).
