This forum does expect people to have some common sense/used a forum or internet before. I see it more as not suffering fools gladly, which works for me. And that is also what makes it funny.
It also shows no respect to anyone with no respect for the 'rules' - written or implied (can easily work out the implied rules by reading through a page of posts and getting a feel for how the forum works - if people can't be bothered to do that then why should the forum bother to help them?)
This thread is a good example. Someone posts their crappy bike on an independent thread and then tries to defend that when told what they should have done, which they could have worked out by reading through the other posts first!
