Why would the Japanese learn from the Italians? I'm not arguing your point, Ed, just curious.
Because the Italians were the best, they learn from them, quite a lots of japanese frame builders have italian flags on their frame (or anything to associated with italy), they all studies the like of Ciocc, Colnago etc.
