This is at the British Museum, where 'IS' really means 'IT'...
Project Coordinator – £30,143
The IS team is looking for a dedicated individual to take up the role of Project Co-ordinator.
You will support the analysis for, and management of, multiple IT projects, as well as ensuring consistency of processes (for reporting, documentation, accounting etc) across projects and reflecting best practice project management methodologies.
Working in a small team with two or three Project Managers you will be exposed to a wide range of projects including:
IT infrastructure upgrades, for example the merging of the Museum’s voice and data networks. Procurement and implementation of new applications, such as a Digital Asset Management system, to potentially hundreds of users across the Museum. The overhaul of IS related policies and procedures – such as the Museum’s remote working policy – to ensure compliance with new regulations and legislation.
Introduction of software to support collaborative working
Many projects require formal business analysis to be undertaken and this would form part of the Project Co-ordinator role.
This post requires an individual who is pro-active in resolving issues and can take on board large quantities of information and deal with it systematically and rationally.
You will have prior experience of working in administrative or project support roles, which demonstrate organisational skills and analytical abilities. You will also have experience of working with MSOffice desktop automation software particularly Word and Excel, and you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
**Advertised Internally and Externally ** Closing date: 30 October 2009
