Nice to see you guys - again.
SPDs + 5 pints = no fail. Got home safe. I wouldn't try the same in the midday traffic, though.
Festus, how did it go? You OK? ;-) -

sooo...sorry I missed it. Drama at the home front. That's two pins I missed. I don't suppose anyone wants a sneaky pint tonight?
-
• #3581
Sorry I couldn't stay longer - it's been a busy few weeks with too much stuff to pack in (just remembered it's me mammy's birthday tomorrow!).
Votes for and against The Rake:
Lots of space.
With nowhere to sit down though.
But we're super-hard, so there.Beer was loooovely.
Full of City types. What time did they clear off home?
Did they have heaters under the covered area?Pizza Express nearby.
It was RAMMED - on a Tuesday night!! Although they had quite a few unused tables.
But it'd take us a fair while to get served, they were so busy. Not a "quick bite" venue.Other thoughts..?

I have to say I quite liked the Thameside.
The beer was acceptable, the view was very nice, they have outdoor heaters, plenty of space to lock up.
The food was cheap'n'cheerful it seems, and it was not stuffed with tourists.
The beer in the Rake was very nice but their no tabs policy was annoying, also as hard as we all are Tee Bee it would be nice to have the option of sitting down.

Well the thamesside it is.
Great view and not a throughfare so people don't walk through. Quite enough to talk and lots of Lock up space. I think we should give it a couple of weeks then hit them for a meal deal.

Don't like easts. People don't shop up till ten.

Well the food isn't vegan either.
Where are you thinking?
-
• #3587
anywhere with beer.
feeling rubbish and want a drink. -
• #3588
It's a shame that there isn't a vegan pub in London.
I can't make Easts tonight, as we have an LCC in Hackney meeting. Drinks at the Pembury (best pub in Hackney) afterwards.

It's a bog standard chain pub/managed house.
You can ask but you've got nay chance I'd say.
The food's cheap enough as is anyway.

i vote for the thameside as well for a few more venues to see how it'll work out. but by the looks of it there where pleased peeps. could be a doer.
@dammit: after we went in the 3rd(!) pub (multi met and brought a lady along) some wanky door knobs tried a pull on her. why? she was on the hot side. how? i don't know as i only got it in the aftermath. but yeah sth gave MG grief.
@Nhatti: roebuck for a quick one, i'd be up for it. finish here 6 so eta quarter past. fine by you?

How many times did that guy humming bob marley hit us for change?
-
• #3600
Oh and no mention of the tall chap on the bob jackson at the rake.
Nice work Timmy. Wasn't Andy Williams awful? I saw him about 7 years ago at the Albert Hall and he was still great then, but he can't sing a note now. Damn shame.
