More cyclist bashing from Magda Szubanski in Australia

do you honestly believe that? not been there myself (not likely to either) but the anectdotal evidence suggests a prevailing bad attitude towards cyclists that is far worse than over here.

the opportunities for catastrophe are greater (bigger roads, traffic is much faster, less opportunity for cyclists to escape or catch up/remonstrate), so maybe the incidents that do make the news are more extreme, but i reckon the proportion of total fuckwits is similar.

people in aus can be bad drivers, but apart from the odd hoon it's not as mad max as it sounds.
