wow - i think you got me wrong. i'm not preaching a new philosophy or trying to change the world -i was just explaining how i felt about some things, how i tried to choose how to behave / live, and asked if others felt the same how they went about it. dont really give a shit what others do so long as i can feel free to do what i want.
You at least sound like it which is near enough for me.
trying to fugure out why you said that i guess there is negative judgment implicit in my feelings but so are all opinions based on value judgments....i dont see how thats arrogant..?
you got rage dude - go for a ride and sweat it out :)This pretty much proves my assertion tbh ... firstly you are think you are somehow educating me to something which I have not already realised. Guess what ... I already understand this.
BTW I am perfectly calm when I wrote the post and when replied thankyou very much.

I don't have a problem with you being a vegetarian/vegan .. I have a problem with the reasons as to why you are doing it ... i.e. beliefs in supernatural shit that is purely fictious. Anyway I know you are pulling my plonker.
The OP seems to have this arrogance that they know what people want and what is best for planet and all that guff ... get a clue mate ... you don't.
Personally I hate waste ... I hate wasting food .. I hate wasting equipment ... I hate wasting money. Ain't nothing green about it, nothing to do with me caring about the planet ... I just hate wasting stuff. I use a bike because it is cheap and gets me to work quicker than a car ... but this has been discussed before.
WOW. OTT.
I think you've misunderstood the OP - the reason i say this is because of your negative response.
The chap who started this thread has raised a good point and a good discussion.
As for saying that you "dont know what is good for the planet and all that guff" - that is total nonsense. Of course people know what is good for the planet and what is good for people. You're comment leaves me dumbfounded.

I perfectly understood the OP. I just didn't like it ... I hear this type of crap all the time and they don't realise how twattish they sound and frankly it gets on my tits. So I had a go.

Off the top of my head ...
- How do you solve the problem of poverty?
- How would you bring democracy to IRAN?
- How would you solve the problem of violent crime in urban areas?
- How would you stop china polluting the planet?
How would you solve them? I dunno the answer. It all very well saying what the end result is but there needs to be a process that happens before hand which seems to be glossed over.

I cant, but that is not the point. The point is we DO know what is good for them/the planet it's just hard to find good people in power......if you care, are humble, intelligent, modest, fair, free you have no care for polictics.
Basically, fuck the human race - its probably the most human thing i could say.

Maybe it cannot be solved, maybe it is a function of cities/towns - in the same respect that you might ask how do we reduce the population of overpopulated areas - the answer is 'you cannot' - violent crime is part of the human condition.- How would you stop china polluting the planet?
End China, invade, use the same rational that informed this decades other two preemptive moves, destroy the threat before it manifests it's self. Or remove our own governments that support and trade with and encourage China - or any number of fantasy ideas.
How would you solve them?
They will not be solved, they were never going to be solved, we have no system in place to address these kinds of things.

Someone who puts it better than I.
i've seen this guy before do a stand up about god - and like this clip - total moron.
This guy is a fucking parasite preaching 'alt, alt alt views' that quite frankly are misguided, idiotic, ignorant, (despite what he says) self-important and childish.

Gotta disagree with this, his views are a breath of fresh air instead of all the usual shit we hear on these topics.

hmmm, i really dont see the 'breath of fresh air' thing. The reason why i have total resentment for his 'wooly thinking' is because i said the same things when i was an angst ridden teenager......when i was 15 and thought i knew it all.
I'm so glad i didn't make my views public then, it would've been, quite frankly, embarrasing, however this guy is famous for it.....there is nothing new or refreshing about this. He thinks he's a 'smart guy'....he really isn't. It's near impossible to say something new, challenging, revealing or synical that hasn't already been said on the topics he chooses....and he really isn't saying anything radical.

But it's refreshing to his audience is it not? I mean not everyone reads journals. As comedy it is both funny and thought-provoking in my opinion.

And I do find it refreshing, as all we hear on these topics are the same old drivel that a lot of the time, are a load of crap. He publically says the things that a lot of us are thinking to ourselves.
RIP George.

is that to say his audience are a little thick?
I agree with you though, comedy should be funny and thought-provoking.....i just think his views aren't really either.
oh well.
