  • As my bikes have steadily got nicer over the last couple of months, I have started coming to the realisation that I am very soon going to have to leave something quite nice, outside to face the elements.

I can get away with a frame under the settee and wheels hanging in the airing cupboard, but when my new bike is going to be fully built I can't see it going down well if I say it MUST be kept indoors

I have tried weaning the mrs onto the idea of keeping a bike inside our 1 bedroom flat by just leaving my bike inside, working on it in the kitchen etc, but I know she's the opposite of keen on the idea.

My outside space is under a balcony, so it's not like leaving it in the open, but it's still exposed to a wet and constantly changing atmosphere

I'm considering getting a moped cover or something. In my last flat I had a similar situation for my motorbike and used a waterproof cover under a stairwell which worked okay, but not brilliantly

    What do you do?
