I have been riding a fixed gear (Kona Paddy Wagon) a couple of months ago and just started to ride about London.
My mate came of his bike today near cannon street. He landed flat on his face :( after plummeting over the front of the bike. Not fun! I have his bike atm and was trying to figure out what could have happened! Having seen the event from behind, it seemed like a locked front wheel but he doesnt remember (he luckily got away with no broken bones, just a badly cut face... i say just, it was still horrible). Hes a competant cyclist (he has been cycling fixed for a while longer than me) and had no need to break as we weren't going very fast. Just a bit miffed about it all atm! Just wanted to know about any possible problems with forks/breaks that may occur randomly like that.
