Having a nightmare fitting Sugino 75 Bottom Bracket, help!

No, spindle is in. I'm just trying to unscrew it again now as this can't be good, but the spindle is in the right place (going through the middle) so this shouldn't make any difference, should it?

Have you tried taking out the spindle and seeing if you can tighten it down then?

That's what I was thinking - no not new. I am screwing it the right way, bit worried at the moment maybe it didn't go in completely straight?

Should not need forcing. Was the fame new? if so, the thread myth need a tap running through it to glean out paint etc.

If the frame is not new, has the thread been threaded or cross threaded? Again a tap will be the answer.

Obviously we are assuming you are screwing it the correct way. (italian thread is both clockwise, english thread has one side screwed in anticlockwise, I forget which).

I think so, to be honest I didn't check. Oops. Will do when I've got it out.

Does your BB shell have enough thread to take the whole cup?
