• Hey,

the thread on my rear fixed is mashed and I cant afford a new hub/build or wheelset right now so i'm thinking of making the cog and lockring a permanent fixture on the rear hub by using some sort of hardcore glue until I can afford a new setup.

Anyone done this before - what did you use?

    Tom

  • tig :)

  • I tried this as an emergency measure on my brothers bike, when he stripped his threads and it just didn't hold. If you've got no thread left at all, chances are you're screwed. I araladited a Miche sprocket carrier onto a partially stripped thread and thus far that's held fine, also has the advantage that you can still change sprockets. Good luck :)

  • or 2 part epoxy. . . dont know how strong it would be but if you cant get someone to weld it . . . or if u cant weld it at all

  • yeh, i know someone who can get their hands on some hardcore epoxy resin so I might give that a go.... will look into the miche sprocket carrier too.

    cheers
