  • I need to get that Orange Box. But I just can't find the time, what with Trials HD, CoD, and even the odd foray into Fallout 3 taking up my time.

    I think you'll fall in love with Half Life 2, epic storytelling and fantastic gameplay, it's extremely expansive in term of mapping, in comparsion, Bioshock is very claustrophobias (fair enough it is underwater), it's also gorgeous to look at despite being 3 years older than Bioshock, the character design in Bioshock look primitive compare to HL2;

    great dialogue, great story, great battle, great weapon, and the best of all - wasn't set in some obvious city like London, New York or Moscow that seemed to be popular in videogames, it was set in the most unlikest location - Bulgaria (City 17 is likely to resemblance Sofia).

    I agree that bioshock isn't up to half life's standards but i was referring more to the feeling i got from both games that the story development was as important to the designers as the game mechanics. This is something that i think lacks from the vast majority of current games/series. for example halo.

    1+ a thousand time, the story is what kept me playing, DOOM 3 was ultimately boring since the story was dull and repetitive (you have to do this and that and then kill the obvious boss, that's it), Bioshock could've easily been dull to play with had the story been rather tedious.
