  • In Bordeaux, spotted some bike in a shoe shop. 2 out of the 3 had BLB cranks!

  • Guy who cycles through brixton on a black condor pista with red tyres. Often in a pink jacket with a little bunch of hair on head. You were out the front of the hootananny about 7(?) this eve; I strolled past and admired your wheels.

  • plurabelle/pickle heal up and hope you're ok. I always thought when something clipped your tyre from behind it falls over, maybe that's just bikes. Surprised it being a bendy it didn't burst into flames ;)

  • I was in a cab in stoke newington pulling out into green lanes just now and a very angry scottsman shouted some obscenities at the driver.

He didn't have lights or a helmet and was waving his hands as he came towards the car.

    Still laughing about it.

Feiyue are cool trainers, I get the chinese originals from here http://www.taichifinder.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=473 for £12.50, the stylised european versions are about £40. Am amazed to see them branding a bike, especially in Bordeaux?!

  • spotted Rocksteady in Tynan mode at St Giles Circus. I recognised* him *immediately because I am a racist.
ha ha, yes it was me, if only i was facing the other way i could have made 'will power 2'
also spotted bristly pioneer in brick lane, an ed scoble look-a-like on old st on a black frame and the elusive jacqui in tdv...

  • very random spot. fruitbat, trafalgar ave se15 this very eve, 2030ish zulu. nice to see you tim, good luck with sound system tomorro

Good to see you too. Sound is now all sorted

It's a blessing then that they make good wine and cheese over there.

  • spotted - too many freewheelers! bike is hipped out like a fixed gear but they stop pedalling round corners! let down tbh

This is the fixed gear and single speed forum, after all.

  • spotted a testament to the forums reach in the form of about a million fixie skidders locked up to anything solid and immovable outside the foundry yesterday evening as I bussed pass. lovely sight.

followed by a possible shinscar spot waiting outside the prince charles cinema a bit later?

  • Sounds like two nasty accidents. Hope you both heal fast.

Heal fast pickle and plurabelle. Sounds like both incidents could have ended up a lot worse.

    Eeep!
Hope you both heal up well x

Hit from behind by a cyclist. Cyclists! What a bunch of idiots. They don't even pay Vehicle Excise Duty Tax they just ride in to each other.
    See you tomorrow :)

plurabelle/pickle heal up and hope you're ok.

Ta all. I thought I was fine but I increasingly can't walk very well let alone cycle. I think I've done something to the muscles in my pelvic region. I think that's what it must be as I can't lift either leg. I guess muscular stuff just takes a while to heal. /lies back on sofa, opens bon bons

normally hot baths are good for muscles but thats strain not impact -
hope its just bruising - happy recovery :)

Sounds nasty. Other people know more about this than I do but I would try to get some advice from a physio rather than just wait.

  • Plurabelle; I'm no doctor but in my experience laughter is the best medicine; that and a brief walk to the bar to buy a friend a pint. Alternatively, have you thought of prayer?

  • Googling frantically and posting about it on a bike forum's as good as a physio, no? The bath plan sounds good, though, and might fit in with my current bon bons + inactivity 'holistic' approach.

Will, your leadership is as ever inspirational. Do you have an 0800 number so that I could donate/heal more quickly?

  • gah! i hope you didn't do any muscle damage or pulled anything that wouldn't have shown up on x-ray. enjoy the bonbons, but don't eat any wafers outside. it's a windy one!

You've done it twice now. It's bonbons. One word. Word.

  • Damn you, Sharkstar.

    Thanks man.

What happens if you eat wafers in the wind?!

  • Damn you, Sharkstar.

I'm just keeping you to your own high standards.

  • Thanks man.

Bad things, mixed with disappointment and sadness. The wafer might also lodge itself into someone's eye and then you can add guilt to the equation. Best not to try it.

  • you could weight said wafer with ice cream.

  • Spotted very serious courier this morning just before Oxford St (coming from the East). Masked and in full riot gear.

Big Dummy on the Thames Path - shouted "nice bike mate" and got a wave, you must get that all the time. Would have shouted something witty but running on fumes after the NVS social last night.

Looked like a serious accident on Oxford St, just before I passed a Ghost on the central reservation (no bikes to be seen, but there was a bike cop in attendance, so I worried). Quite an intense first ride through all in all.

Anyone in West have a serious bike lock I can borrow? G/f's halls have no secure bike parking and very worried about leaving Holly all alone at night.

EDIT: If you do - 0 seven 979 two 74 zero 85 - gimme a text, I'll be around central this afternoon.

  • lots of people outside HH this morning as i drove past. Bout half 11.

Girl and someone else cycling down college road through dulwich village. Followed about 2 mins later by 2 blokes - going the same way, brakeless, one had white deep v's i think and a red frame & risers. I shouted do a skid but was duly ignored/unheard.

also bout 20 mins ago, bloke wearing a red t shirt/sandy coloured trousers. On a Blue frame (pinarello?), black deep v's, chrome track drops. Climbing dog kennel hill before turning into sainsburys.

    yo

  • @ Pickle. Sounds nasty. Hope you're ok. Bendy buses should be banned.

aren't they supposed to be being phased out? scare the bananas out of me. heal fast pickle and plurabelle.

spotted: the lovely clefty last night on clapham road. i tried to bellow, i think you noticed. may have come out a squeak. sorry i didn't stop, was late for a date with some soup and the mask on tv at a mates.
