so i have umming and ahhing about whether to post this.....cos it is a bit sad...
but i mentioned it to skully and he seemed very interested so here goes....
this ghost bike was put there about two weeks ago with fresh flowers in the basket etc.
but on reading the attached eulogies it seems it relates to the death of a cyclist 10 years ago - collision with a lorry.
the victim was 21 years old and a student nurse and she is obviously still very much missed by her friends and family.
i presume the ghost bike was put there to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death.
it makes me very sad all this. i could not help but cry when i read the eulogies.
but also somewhat hopeful: that there is still love in the world. that friends and family love the victim so much that they remember her and wish to commemorate / remember her life in this way.
and it definitely makes me hacked off that our so called leaders can continue to preside over this carnage that they call the public realm / a transport system.
