He's famous. You can now do a "bradbury" which is to win because everyone else has crashed/abandoned/etc.
Anyway, he still made it to the Olympics and won. It was apparently a tactical decision to sit back and wait, since he knew he had no chance of out-skating them. If those other fuckers, who were born on the ice, can't skate that's their loss.
