It was indeed! I used it on streatley that you did at the week end with 39x19 for a 2-32ish.
The chainring bolt incident was on a borrowed 595 Look road bike :-(

Yeah, I just dug up your result on the CTC site. Wish I'd geared up a bit - 44x22 got me too anaerobic during the middle section.
I'm too old now anyway :(
A borrowed 595, you say. Sounds like foul play to me. Paper bags full of tatty fivers and a 5mm allen key from one of your rivals no doubt ;)

Now you come to mention it... it was borrowed from a team mate and I missed out on the team medal..!
I hate all hillclimbs less that 4mins. I'm just all aerobic. Having said that, team has roped me in for the Catford and Bec - not looking forward to the Latate burn! - may be see you there?

Probably, if this lurgy doesn't worsen. I've entered anyway, but have had last minute doubts about riding it fixed again, so might use gears if I can quickly learn how to use them in that context :S
I've booked some time off work to go and experiment tomorrow morning...

I reckon Bec is ok on fixed (though I rode gears when I had the choice!) so long as you back off a bit in the middle section. The Catford on the other hand... I don't see a way of not being under-geared at the bottom and over geared at the top given that the gradient increases so much.

I'm going to ride a sheep for the Catford, after today's experience.
Can't believe no-one's made a move on your bike yet...

nice bike, if for some reason you split or the buyer doesn't like the saddle i'd take it off you either for cash or another saddle (concor, slr, others)
cheers
Shorter track bike for sale, aluminium frame (identical to Dolan precursa) 52cm ctt, virtual top tube 54cm.
ITM millenium carbon forks with brake drilling.
Navigator pista clincher wheels (non machined brake surface),
Schwalbe stelvio evo tyres 23mm,
Ambrosio 165mm cranks, ISIS drive carbon shell BB, 48x15 1/8 chain,
Ambrosio carbon seatpost,
Flite TT carbon shell saddle (165g),
Oval stem 11cm,
ITM Super 330 bars 42cm (brand new bar tape).
Vast majority of bike absolutely immaculate, used for just two sessions at Newport and a couple of hillclimbs. Saddle, bars and stem a bit more use but in good condition. Sadly, has spent much of it's life languishing at the back of the shed and I can no longer justify hanging on to it. Just found a 20t sprocket that I'll throw in too.
£400
Located in Oxford but easy pick-up via Oxford Tube/Espress bus. (Can confirm, having spent 18months commuting!)
