Some cunt stole my nice Hardtail from my shed, crow barred the door to get in.
Wanted the egg beaters for my new bike... fuckers
And they were hooded 16 year olds that say innit alot..
This is a story that needs to be told on national telly.

Yep, said it before, it slowly turns into a reference library, why ask any questions at all, they have all probably already been asked in one form or another.
yeh, i'm with you on this one. this isn't a library.

Well - I, for one, am disappointed. So much for the vaunted poo-smear security system?
All pre-poo.
It was the sheer volume of thievery that drove me to empty my bowls onto the problem.
Since I have been shitting on my saddle and bars - I have come back with the same bike I left the remand centre with.

I think heres a great place to do some research - actually talking to people who its affected rather than just getting stats - TBH i wish more of the media looked on here before writing/filming half the** codswallop **out there

er, she's a researcher, or whatever she is, and so she should be well versed in googling and searching for things, and it's not forum etiquette to think of searching a well known forum for a stolen bikes topic. you're not going to get a good, reliable, or accurate docu by quoting anonymous people off the internet saying "stolen bikes fund drugs". that's not proof, there may be proof, but an anonymous person saying it means fuck all to the police, or anyone who would watch the documentary. going undercover in a bike theif ring and filming them stealing a bike, dealing drugs, etc, is going to be much more effective than some facts such as. i feel a documentary that is researched by asking obviously answered question is doomed to failure, i would be more confident in its outcome if they came on here and had read the relevant info then organised going to one of the drinks to meet people or something similar, to actually have names and faces rather than john smith saying how his lock was cut and he went to brick lane and rode off on it when the thief offered him a test ride.
You've quoted me out of context and ignored everything else I said, which is all relevant to your points above. Demonstrating probably one of the most poorly researched and lazy examples of writing this side of the Mail. Well done. Your bias shines through like a gleaming turd of negativity.

No, my point stands (to be honest I am not entirely sure what point you are making here ?).

On a more serious note . . . .
They amount to pretty much the same thing.
I often wonder why people don't let questions that they don't want to answer to just flounder, rather than feeling the need to tell people off ?
There are some people out there who actually enjoy sharing information, who get a bit of a kick out of explaining something - there is - somewhere - a 14 year old kid who has just learnt how to calculate gear inches - and would love nothing more than to show off his or her new skill.
But all we seem to be building up here is an army of officious 'council' officials.
I smell a lynching.

the difference is, i am not a journalist, don't have to do it well, and what i do say will have approximately zero impact on the levels of bike crime.
you're the one flapping on about accuracy and my writing is exactly why an internet forum is not the place to get details for a major documentary - it's full of shit. it is not an appropriate place (i don't think) to get accurate or hard hitting documentary material. you have to have actual sources and facts to make a documentary, which is not what you are going to find on here.
No, my point stands (to be honest I am not entirely sure what point you are making here ?).
that the internet is not face to face contact.
