Brewtopia on Crescent is another brew pub at which I got drunk after class many times.
Get the mish mash at Cosmos (I've never done this because of the meat content, but you should).
Cheval Blanc is a decent brew pub.
The Casa del Popolo used to be a decent hipsterish bar, that may have changed since we left.
Just north of the Casa is Esperanza which I used to like a lot, but it shut down (and has since re-opened) so it may not be what it used to.
Montreal in the fall always had a never ending string of decent bands coming through...
There's a place on Clark just north of Rene-Levesque, up some stairs on the east side of the road (so it's just outside of China town). Best Chinese I may have ever had. Szechuan and very spicy.
