  • very nice!

  • Indeed lovely bike

  • very nice!

  • Thanks! I built it from scratch 18 months ago or so. I've just finished building another, and only have room in my flat (and in my wallet) for one...

  • Tight as a Nun's....

  • v clean, v nice

the critics might say you skimped a bit on the wheels, and shouldn't mix japanese and italian...

but that frame is lush. so don't let anyone here try to make you split it, but if you do let me know

  • Yep, some 23s won't fit...

  • Fair comment re skimping on the hubs.

I would agree to split the wheels, but that's about it.

  • Yep, some 23s won't fit...

feel you're pain...i can barely squeeze a 20c on, and run 19s. makes buying new tyres fun

  • Yep, used to use GP 2008s (had natural sidewalls) in 20s, but they're all sold out...

Some 23s are ok, but bought some Gatorskins a while back and at 120PSI the front wouldn't run... lol

Just burnt them both out on the rear.

  • That is very tidy... Shame about the hubs but, meh... It's the bee's knees...

  • By way of explanation re the hubs: I planned to sell this about 6 weeks ago. More or less the day after, someone kindly stole the front wheel. So, I needed to build up a new pair to make the bike saleable as a whole. I had the rims spare, but didn't fancy spending £150 plus on some new hubs knowing the bike would be out the door in a couple of weeks...

    Just self preservation, I guess...

  • Nickle? Wow, truly a 'gorgeous' frame. Glad you didn't powder coat that baby blue...

  • @skully - i'm trying to get that ral 5012/24 banned for life!

  • There's nothing wrong with Miche hubs quality wise, they last for ages.

no need to explain mate, and i wasn't dissing miche hubs per se, just I always like to see some shiny record hubs with the beautiful omegas

saying that, what was the rear wheel that didn't get nicked, do you still have it? Might be interested depending what it is...

    we're like bloody vultures here

  • Chrome plating's a 3 stage process. Copper, then nickel, then chrome. So, nickle plating just stops at stage 2. Less weight and a warmer finish. Another nice example here:

  • Sorry already sold the rear. Wasn't that flash either though. (Mavic Open Pro CD / Ambrosio H/F)

  • i think ive seen this locked up outside waterloo station. had to touch it it was so PRoperly nice!

  • Yep, that's where I work. I'm amazed how many people on here have seen it!

It's also where the wheel was stolen from...

Well, that sounds suspicious now :)

btw, I'm not a vintage frames fan but this one I like :)

  • Outrageously sweet bike. And only 200 sheets more than GBBF™
