I am thinking of buying some road shoes but want the ability to be able to walk in them and use mtb cleats for my lo-pro. They look like the should protect the cleat when you are walking in them and also have the obvious advantage of being replaceable - so when you wear em down you dont need a new pair of shoes.....
These things seem ideal - ie if I want to ride at Newport - I can unbolt them and bolt on a pair of Look cleats saving me from having to buy 2 pairs of shoes 1 mtb and 1 road.....
