Don't talk shit.
Thieves will steal anything they can get.
They do know how to remove pedals. -

Right. Well aware that some cunts will nick anything going, but I'm talkint about the broad daylight cut_lock_and_fuck_off_sharpish scrotes that operate in central London.
Thinking that removing the 'fuck_off_sharpish' option MAY reduce the attraction if there are easier pickings nearby.

Yep ride this:
And lock it up next to this:

Do you honestly think your bike will not get stolen because you have non matching pedals, because that is in essence what you're saying?
If so, seriously, have a word with yourself.

Brainwave Alert:
I'm going to attach a blow-up sex doll to my bike (with miscellaneous gloop hanging from her mouth) for when I have to leave it locked up next. There is no way anyone would go near my bike then. The best part is that the doll can be deflated and put in my bag and is both light and waterproof.
Non?

RhysPo, if I see your bike, I'll nick it... I use ATACs too.

Nope - I'm saying that there may be slightly less chance of broad daylight, in public theft (the only way some cunt will ever get my bike without physically breaking into my house, as I now have the bike in my bedroom while the wife sleeps in the shed) as the particular choice of pedals would make it fucking difficult to ride off quickly on without the same combination of cleats.

No there wouldn't be less chance.
No it wouldn't be difficult. -

i dont think theives give a shit, they will ride it way regardless, or shove it in a van.
the number of expensive bikes i see about with clipless pedals and riders wearing trainers leads me to believe that those who buy stolen bikes dont care about the pedals, so theives dont remove them anyway.
time for a new plan, some would suggest you tynanise(C)(TM) it.

Take the pedals off when you leave it- that will make it more difficult to steal.

As long as they're not driving a white van

I use frogs on my Recumbent and can easily pedal using my street shoes.

+1 if OP is that worried

I was thinking a replica of a police bike would be un-nickable, they weigh a ton, have ridiculous lights, are made by Smith & Weston (? the gun manufacturer?) and say POLICE on them.
But then I saw one up close -- Rohloff speedhubs. Fuck it, I'd nick one.
Disclaimer: I have U'd TFS and couldn't find anything specific.
Something just dawned on me ... is there any correlation between the instances of bikes being nicked and type of pedal attached? I'm wondering whether thieves in general tend to shy away from bikes with the smaller clipless pedals.
I presently have Time Atac Aliums on my Fixed roadie (just about flat-pedallable) and Speedplay Frogs (tiny) on my MTB ... I was thinking of swapping one of the pedals on each .... will make both bikes look a bit weird, but means that they'd be a bit tricky to ride away on unless the scrote just happens to have the correct mismatching cleats or is prepared to fit new pedals.
I eagerly await my bike appearing in Non-Porn......
