The London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association has a lot going on right now. The more active members we get, the more we can do. We welcome all poloists and other interested parties to join the Association. It is a measly £5 for a year's membership.
Your £5 gets you a say in the Association -- you can help formulate are plans and projects, and you get to vote on all decisions. I am writing this now because we have just set up a member email list. If you pay £5, you can be on the member email list and contribute to those discussions, even if you can't make all the meetings (which will hopefully be once per month, max, plus any subcommittee meetings). If you have ever wanted to ensure you are in the know, this is the way to do it.
If you would like to join the member email list immediately, PM me (I'm the Association Secretary) and I'll get you in the list, and then get your signature and £5 later.
Some quick highlights:
We are working on a long-term plan to get one ore more dedicated polo courts (with lights and facilities) for London.
We are working on organizing a UK Championship and possibly an annual London Open.
We currently have three nominations for one open Co-Chair position: Buffalo Bill, Emilie Object, and Rik. Nominations are open until Oct 19th. The vote will take place at an Extraordinary General Membership meeting on Oct 26th. (Mike K. is the other Co-Chair)
We are working on a better plan for doing outreach, communications with the broader community, and so on.
